Feed configuration in the module's main page
Once the Photoslurp module is installed, the next step is to export the file (or files) containing the shop's product feed in all available languages. This product feed will be used to create, and keep up to date, the Catalog in Photoslurp.
Exporting the product feed is done on the main configuration page of the module. To access this page, it is necessary to locate the Photoslurp’s module in the list of "Installed modules" by going to "Module manager (PS 1.7)" or "Modules and services (PS 1.6)" and clicking on "Configure".
Feed configuration options
The "PRODUCT EXPORT" section provides step-by-step instructions for configuring and exporting the product feed.
STEP 1 requires you to select the type of identifier to be used for the products in the feed. The available options are ID (id_product in Prestashop), EAN13, UPC and REFERENCE.
Note: The "ID" identifier, which is selected by default when installing the module, is an internal Prestashop identifier so we recommend selecting "REFERENCE". This identifier may prove easier to find when searching and assigning products in Photoslurp. It is important to note that if an identifier other than "ID" is selected, the only products exported will be those that have an existing value for the selected identifier in your Prestashop product template.
In STEP 2 you have to choose the stores for which the product feed is to be generated. Click on the “Export” button to generate the CSV file (or files). The execution time of this process may vary depending on the number of shops to be exported and the number of products available in each of the catalogs.
Note: For installations that do not use Prestashop's multi-store functionality, only one store will be listed. For multi-store installations, all active stores will be listed in this section.
Once the export process is finished, a list of the URLs for downloading the product feed files will be displayed. These URLs will be used in the next step of the guide "Creating a Product Catalog in the Photoslurp dashboard".
Setting up multilingual sites
Photslurp detects enabled languages and provides a language-specific field for each product attribute, allowing the widget to display information in different languages.
We can configure and manage all the languages available in the stores from a single campaign:
- One catalog with all country data in it (descriptions/URLs/price in all the languages supported by the company).
- One campaign where all media is collected.
- All media management (accept, reject and link) is done from one campaign.
- The same media is displayed on each country's website, but the product name, URL, etc. are relevant to each country. This way, a user viewing the English website won’t be redirected to the Spanish product page when clicking on the "Shop this look" button.
- When the stock synchronization feature is used, content that has been linked to an out-of-stock product of a specific language or locale will not appear.
