Creating a new Catalog in the dashboard
To create a new product catalog in the Photoslurp dashboard, select Products in the menu located on the left and click Create A New Catalog, as seen below:
Catalog settings
After clicking on the "Create a New Catalog" button, the "Add new catalog" page will be displayed:
- Set the catalog’s name.
- Enter a description (optional).
- Enter the URL of the product feed that you configured in the previous step of this guide.
- Select the "Fetch now" checkbox to make the Photoslurp servers download and import the product feed upon saving.
- When the "Do you want to hide product variants?" checkbox is selected, only the first product pertaining to an identified group will appear in the Photoslurp catalog listing and in search suggestions inside the product assignment form.
- Click on the “Create catalog” button to finish.
To make sure that your catalog updates automatically, the file on your server should be accessible from the platform. Our platform will then automatically download the file every 24 hours and update your catalog.
Note: If you've checked the "Fetch now" checkbox, please allow a few minutes for our servers to download and process the product feed.
Set catalog's default language
The Photoslurp platform will automatically detect all of the available languages in the product feed, based on its headers. However, we strongly recommend that you set a default language for your product catalog. This will ensure that if by mistake the widget requests information in a language that is not available, it will return the information in the default language. To do this, click on the “Update catalog” button:
The Update catalog configuration page will be displayed, where you’ll find the Default product language field. Here you can type in one of the available language codes shown just above it.
Finally, to enable catalog auto-updates, the auto export feature mentioned in Step 2 must have been activated.
