Our widgets typically perform best, in terms of conversion rate optimization, on product pages where they provide social proof to your visitors at their point of purchase. Here the widgets will by default show only those photos and videos related to the product the visitor is viewing.
Management note: When there are no photos related to a specific product, the rest of approved photos will show in the widget by default. There are several options available here to customize this behaviour, such as setting a threshold of the minimum number of media that should be available before showing the widget; or displaying exclusively media related to the product, omitting the rest. For more information, check the Widget Editor User Guide.
Product Widget Configuration
Select 'Manage Widgets' in the Photoslurp Magento module to get started. This is where you can now add and configure the various widgets you would like to display throughout your online store.
Click ‘Add New Item’ on the top right to add a new widget. You will now be presented with all the configuration options for the newly created widget:
Required parameters
1. Username - The username with which the Photoslurp dashboard is accessed.
2. Widget Id - This is the ID of the widget that you have previously created in the Photoslurp dashboard.
3. Page Type - The type of page that you want to embed this widget on. For this example, this should be set to 'product'.
4. Website - If you have multiple websites configured in your Magento store, here you would need to choose which website you would like the widget to be installed in.
5. Position - This parameter allows you to choose where on your product page you would like the widget to be placed.
6. Only Show Media From Product Category – When enabled, this parameter will ensure the widget only returns media linked to other products of the same category when no media is available for the current product.
Once you're finished, your Product widget will automatically be added to your product pages. All other widget behaviour and style settings can be accessed from the widget editor within the Photoslurp platform.
