Exporting the Store Product Feed
In order to create a product catalog in Photoslurp’s dashboard, you are going to need the URL of your product feed:
https://myecommercestore.myshopify.com/pages/photoslurp-product-feed
Replace “myecommercestore” with the name of your store.
This will generate your product feed in Google Shopping format that needs to be reformatted to be compatible with Photoslurp. Please prepend the following URL to your product feed URL:
http://api.photoslurp.com/v1/g2c/?lang_code=XX&cur_code=YYY&source=ZZ
XX - ISO 639-1 two letter language code (e.g. en, es, fr…).
YYY - ISO 4217 three letter currency code (e.g. eur, usd, chf…).
ZZ - your product feed URL.
Important note: Make sure that language and currency codes are the same ones configured in your Shopify store.
A complete product feed export URL should look like this:
Important note: Make sure that your Shopify store is not closed! If it is closed and password protected, our servers will not be able to access your product feed.
Multilingual setup
If you have multiple stores, each with its own default language, you need to configure the Photoslurp app in each of them and provide Photoslurp's Tech Support team with all the links to the different product feeds. Our team will combine all the feeds in your Photoslurp catalog, and each feed will be assigned a language code to help the widget differentiate between languages. Unless being told otherwise, we’ll use the ISO 639-1 specification for language codes.
Creating a new Catalog in the dashboard
To create a new product catalog in the Photoslurp dashboard, select “Products” in the menu located on the left and click on “Create A New Catalog”, as seen below:
Catalog settings
After clicking on the Create a New Catalog button, the "Add new catalog" page will be displayed:
- Set the catalog’s name.
- Enter a description (optional).
- Enter the modified URL of the product feed that you created in the previous section.
- Select the "Fetch now" checkbox to make that the Photoslurp servers download and import the product feed upon saving.
- When the "Do you want to hide product variants?" checkbox is selected, only the first product pertaining to a group ID will appear in both the Photoslurp catalog and in search suggestions when assigning products to media. Group variants will not be displayed.
- Click on the "Create catalog" button to finish.
Note: If you've checked the "Fetch now" checkbox, please allow a few minutes for our servers to download and process the product feed.
Once the catalog has been created, our platform will automatically download the product feed every 24 hours and update your catalog.
