Many of our clients are multi-brand e-commerce retailers. We understand that in order to collect more content related to the brands you sell it may be advantageous to have a way to search Instagram for content users have posted. The article below outlines a solution we propose for this specific scenario.
While this solution is a good way to search for more content, it is always advisable to encourage your users to post photos using your own e-commerce store's hashtag. This will foster a better social buying experience for your users and helps to create loyalty to your store. Users who see their social content featured on your site after purchase will be encouraged to post more content as well as continue buying from your store.
Step 1
Open Instagram and search for the hashtag of one of the brands you sell on your e-commerce store. Click the brand hashtag to start searching for content.
Step 2
On the search results page you will find all the content users have #hashtagged with this brand's hashtag.
Step 3
Click on a photo that you would like to feature on your e-commerce store. Confirm that the products featured in the photo are for sale on your e-commerce store.
Step 4
Write a comment that explains the ways in which you wish to use the photo using your #yesBRAND hashtag you have created in the media rights framework process as well as the @OfficialBrandInstagram of your e-commerce store.
Example: Hi there! I really love this photo. I would like to feature it on our website and our marketing channels as described here https://bit.ly/KM83d. If you would like to grant us permission to use this photo please reply to this message with a comment containing #yesbrandname and @OfficialBrandInstagram.
Note: For further information about this process, please visit the following article Media Rights Framework
Step 5
When the user responds in a comment with these two elements granting you media rights, the photo or video will be collected automatically by our platform and you will be able to approve it to appear in your widgets.
Note: As this content was not posted by your customers using your brand's hashtag it is necessary to request media rights for usage every time you would like to use a photo you find that is not related to your own brand.
